In November, we recognized and celebrated Veteran’s Day alongside National Veterans and Military Families Month. It’s a time to honor the brave soldiers who served in our armed forces and their supportive families. The sacrifices they all have made do not go unnoticed, and at CAI the least we can do is create an inclusive and encouraging work environment—not just in November, but all year round!

Contributions to the workforce

Through their lived experiences in the military, veterans bring incredible value and perspectives that help drive businesses forward. Stringent discipline, elevated leadership skills, and a refined ability to thrive under pressure are just a few transferrable skills that help veterans ignite success in their teams and across the enterprise.

Support for veterans in action

CAI’s dedication to veterans and actively serving team members transcends words. For over two years, conVERG, has built and maintained a support system for military-affiliated individuals and their families.

conVERG’s leaders and members are the brains behind the operation, hosting a range of activities and initiatives designed to support the military community, including:

• Quarterly book suggestions: Book recommendations each quarter that focuses on leadership and/or self-development, providing valuable insights and inspiration.

• Access to resources: Bridges the gap for veterans and their families to access a variety of resources to navigate any number of challenges such as support groups, meeting with aspiring job seekers (such as yourself) at career fairs, and more.

• Engaging sessions and events: Opportunities for connection, learning, and support. This month, conVERG invited Robin Dreeke, a retired FBI Special Agent and Marine Corps Officer, to lead a virtual session on mastering interpersonal and leadership skills inspired by USMC Boot Camp values.

• Community support: Charitable giving to communities through holiday care packages and an inaugural scholarship for conVERG members and their relatives who are currently attending or will be attending college or trade school.
